The Japan Tobacco Superproducer '96 Project, which honored Nile Rodgers as Producer of the Year, yielded yet another golden opportunity for Sylver. Two CDs were released, including the hit single "Do That Dance" and a collection of old and new CHIC songs titled, CHIC Freak and More Treats. The Japan tour included sold-out performances at the Budokan and Osaka Jo Hall. Sylver
returned to Japan with Nile Rodgers and CHIC for their 1997 Blue Note Tour
and knocked out audiences with her performance of CHIC's 20 year reunion at the acclaimed club, Tramps, in New York. Sylver brought in the new millennium with CHIC in England and Japan. The summer of 2000 took CHIC around the US including Summer Stage in New York's Central Park. CHIC opens the 2001 live performance season at BB Kings in NYC.
In-between gigs, Sylver manages and creates designs for her own line of
custom jewelry. Sylverwear, as it is aptly named, can be found in African
Art Galleries and boutiques in Los Angeles and Washington, DC and on
celebrity clients, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Omar Hakeem, Angie Stone and Nathan Purdee of ABC's, One Life to Live and Susan Taylor Of Essence Magazine.
